I'm a very tactile learner, so I need analog index cards, moving them all about, trying out various sequences for the book's architecture.
When you try to put everything into music, there's no room left to try to make you think we're cool. We know you think we're cool.
Any band on their first couple records is just trying to keep up with their inspiration.
Utilitarianism is inherently pragmatic - in fact, I prefer to call it "deep pragmatism." Humans have real limitations, obligations, and frailties, so the best policy is to set reasonable goals, given your limitations. Just try to be a little less tribalistic.
I like trying things, I am kind of adventurous and I like thrill seeking.
I am never happy with what I do, so I try not to watch stuff that is filmed with me in it because I am always like, "Oh, I could have done that a little bit better," or, "I could have done that differently - that riff could have been a little better."
I'm not much of a water skier, my legs are too skinny for that, so I just try to tube and have fun, just ride.
Not only am I trying to be a daddy, but also a friend, not be the old fogey thats slowing everybody else down... not for a while, at least.
Getting to do different genres of movies means you're gonna have different types of situations. So I want to try and do every type of genre there is out there.
Acting is one thing, but actually trying to change the world and the way people think to make people's lives better? That's the stuff I'm most proud of.
I'm always trying to find something unique or a project that I can do something unique in.
How do you top 'Mormon?' I get sent scripts all the time and I don't know what I would do next. What do you do after that? So I think if you do see me onstage, you'll see me in something dramatic, maybe, or you'll see me try my hand at something else. Perhaps fail, terribly, but try.
I try to most effectively and persuasively present our argument, in a way that gives other people the information they need to decide, on the merits, the wisdom of the path that the president has advocated.
I believe that that responsibility that reporters have is worthy of me showing them respect, and that's what I try to do on a regular basis, and I have been pleased that most reporters have reciprocated and shown me respect as well.
You can waste your whole life trying to be everything to everybody. Pick your passion. And let them pick theirs.
There was a whole set of issues that the other Republican candidates couldn`t go after Trump that hard on. They had this difficult position where they were trying to knock Trump down while appealing to the voters who liked a lot of the outrageous things about Donald Trump.[Hillary] Clinton is giong to have no such restrictions. She`s going to attack him on a wide variety of fronts and I don`t think Trump is going to deal very well with being attacked in that way.
I think [Donald] Trump is going to try to be fairly low key, but the problem is that I don`t think he is going to very well with [Hillary] Clinton attacking him fairly relentlessly for 90 minutes.
I try not to make any boundaries. I try to let all art influence me.
I'm interested in finding sounds and ideas that help bring the audience into the world that we [moviemakes] are all trying to create. Sometimes that's with synthesizers, and sometimes that's with French horns. I love using all of them, depending on the scenario.
A lot of modern film scoring is about a lack of themes, so I try to find ways of using music that doesn't necessarily have thematic material in it to make the points when there is thematic material even stronger. It's cool to be able to combine old and new.
I try to talk as little as possible, unless I see something that I might disagree with.

I heard, one of my producers told me this story where like the Hollywood studios brought all these high-end consultants in to try to figure out how to improve their process and make films more efficiently, and these consultants like studied the process for years and finally came up with this report they put together about how studios can improve the efficiency of their process, and the conclusion was "have the script ready by the time you're shooting.
I'd like to have the script in a much better place from day one of shooting, rather than trying to continue to work on it while you shoot it. I think those are lessons you learn on any film.
