As a kid, I was always listening to music. I would just go in to my room and put on an album, read the lyrics, and just spend hours and hours in there. Plus, my sister Laurie played piano (in fact she taught me my first few notes) so music was always around one way or another.
As you get older and as your situation changes, it becomes different. Yes, I have to provide for my family, so if there's a chance that I'm not going to be able to provide for my family, who is always number one, my kids are always number one, then yeah, maybe it's not the same. But like I said, everybody's boiling point is different and you get to that point differently and you're at peace with it.
I don't really believe you are married unless you have children. And people who only have one kid don't really have kids.
It just kind of continues to be strange and interesting to me to try to understand what other people are looking for. And this also just comes from getting older. You look at the stuff certainly that's coming out of Hollywood these days, and you go, "Did what came out of Hollywood when I was a kid make more sense, or was it just that I was in the demographic then?" But I certainly feel increasingly confused and disconnected from it.
As a kid I was enamored with fiction, most of it utterly forgettable and long forgotten.
It's important to realize that the series actually grows with the reader. "March: Book One" is a great introduction for kids as young as eight or nine years old. But then they grow with the reader. Book Two is bigger, Book Three is even bigger. And they grow more violent and more confrontational.
I think people who agree with Donald Trump have repeatedly made the case that he should be able to say whatever he wants to say, it's time someone did that. But as we go and speak to the kids, the young people who are reading March, we see the fear, we hear them tell us how scared they are.
As a kid, you get to the stage where you realise the gender barriers that exist in society and what you're supposed to do and not supposed to do.
I would prefer the teacher to focus on teaching and have a security officer worry about keeping the kids safe.
Our whole goal is really to create a culture of accountability. Because for a very long time, ending sexual assault has been on the backs of survivors. It's something I often tell parents of kids who are going off to college: It's about asking those hard questions when your kids are applying to school and encouraging them to ask about their rights, to ask about their resources.
I am inspired by positive people who have overcome difficult obstacles, motivational/spiritual books, nature, and my kids.
Well, I did go to Irish dancing lessons as a kid, but I was slapped and never went again.
While they are kids, my children must do as I say.

I think that while kids are in college they don't think that fitness and nutrition are really important things.
